  • 소개 및 적용: UDP-GlcNAc (Uridine 5'-diphospho-N-acetylglucosamine sodium salt) is a nucleotide sugar that is synthesized from glucose through the hexosamine biosynthetic pathway (HBP). It is actively transported into the Golgi apparatus via the nucleotide sugar transporter (NST), and its levels are modulated by the concentration of nutrients exposed to the cell. UDP-GlcNAc is used as a chemical reagent in studies related to the synthesis of immunogens and as a substrate for GlcNAc transferase. It has also been used in the endoplasmic reticulum to Golgi transport assay as a component of the reaction cocktail, as a reference standard for the quantification of UDP-GlcNAc in liver tissues using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), and in testing the glycosylation activity of O-GlcNAc transferase (OGT) against peptide substrate.
