• 소개 및 적용: 4-Methylumbelliferone (4-MU) is a dietary supplement that inhibits hyaluronic acid (HA) synthesis, which is a prominent component of the extracellular matrix in chronic inflammation sites, such as type 1 diabetes, multiple sclerosis, and various malignancies. It is an approved drug in Europe and Asia under the name "hymecromone" for the treatment of biliary spasm. 4-MU is also used as an indicator in the determination of nitric acid and in the kinetic investigation of enzyme activity, as it is highly fluorescent in alkaline solutions with a max Abs. l of 360nm and max. Em. l of 449nm at pH > 9. It has various pharmaceutical applications, including the synthesis of medicinal compounds and as a building block for fluorescent probes. Some of its applications include the synthesis of coumarin triazole derivatives for antimicrobial purposes, coumarin salen-based fluorescence sensors for Mg2+ detection, pyranocoumarin derivatives for anti-hyperglycemic and anti-dyslipidemic effects, and coumarin piperazine derivatives as potential multireceptor atypical antipsychotics. Additionally, 4-MU is used in the synthesis of 4-methylumbelliferyl T-antigen, which serves as a substrate for endo-α-N-acetylgalactosaminidase. It also has other uses such as a choleretic, spasmolytic, and sunscreen, as well as an analytical reagent.
