• 소개 및 적용: Sodium nitrate, known as one of the earliest nitrogen fertilizers, is particularly effective for acid soils and root crops like sugar beet and radish. It has been extensively mined in Chile since the late 19th century and used in various industries such as glass, metallurgy, and pharmaceuticals. In addition to its agricultural uses, sodium nitrate is utilized in the production of nitric acid, pyrotechnics, and as a food preservative. It also serves as an antimicrobial agent and preservative in meat curing, as well as a color fixative in food. Moreover, sodium nitrate is used in the manufacture of various industrial products, including enamels for pottery and matches. It is important to note that excessive use of sodium nitrate can damage soil structure, but normal applications of 100 to 200 kg of fertilizer per hectare per year do not affect the soil structure.
