• 소개 및 적용: 4-Methyloctanoic acid, also known as Hircinoic acid, is a branched fatty acid used in the flavor and fragrance industries to give sweaty and goaty flavors to mutton meat and goat's milk cheese, respectively. It is a colorless to pale-yellow oil that is slightly soluble in chloroform, DMSO, and ethyl acetate. It should be stored in a tightly closed container in a dry and well-ventilated place, and opened containers must be carefully resealed and kept upright to prevent leakage. 4-Methyloctanoic acid is incompatible with strong oxidizing agents and strong bases, and it can cause severe skin burns and eye damage.
