• 소개 및 적용: Delafloxacin meglumine (ABT-492) is a broad-spectrum antibiotic that is effective in treating various types of bacterial infections. It belongs to the anionic fluoroquinolone class of antibiotics and has a unique chemical structure that enhances its potency in acidic environments. Delafloxacin works by inhibiting DNA replication and repair by targeting DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV. It can be administered orally or parenterally and has potent activity against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and Streptococci, as well as Enterobacteriaceae and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The drug was approved by the FDA in June 2017 for the treatment of acute bacterial skin and skin structure infections based on data from two phase III trials.
