• 소개 및 적용: Dimethyl terephthalate (DMT) is an organic compound that is widely used as an industrial intermediate in the production of various polyesters, including polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and poly trimethylene terephthalate. It is a white solid that melts to give a distillable colorless liquid, and is volatile, making it an intermediate in some recycling schemes for PET, such as those from plastic bottles. DMT is used in a variety of applications, including the production of polyester film (audio/video tape, x-ray film, photo film), polyester fiber, PET bottles, polyester adhesives, and engineering plastics. When hydrogenated, DMT can be converted into cyclohexanedimethanol, a useful monomer.
