• 소개 및 적용: Vanadium(V) oxide, also known as vanadium pentoxide (V2O5), is a reddish-yellow powder that is extracted from minerals using strong acids or alkalies. It is an important vanadium compound with a variety of uses in different industries. It is primarily used as a precursor to alloys of vanadium and as an industrial catalyst. Vanadium(V) oxide is also used in the production of ferrovanadium and sulfuric acid, and as a catalyst in the oxidation reactions of some anhydrides. Additionally, it is used as a detector material in bolometer arrays for thermal imaging due to its thermal resistance. Vanadium(V) oxide is a highly selective and stable ethanol sensor material and exhibits excellent electrochemical properties when used as a cathode material in lithium-ion batteries. Other applications of vanadium(V) oxide include making yellow glass, as a depolarizer, as a developer in photography, inhibiting UV transmission in glass, and coloring ceramics and dyeing and printing fabrics. It is also used as a catalyst in the oxidation of SO2 to SO3, alcohol to acetaldehyde, and in the manufacture of aniline black. Vanadium(V) oxide is used in vacuum deposition and as a catalyst for the conversion of toluene to benzonitrile or propylene to acrylonitrile. It is a yellow to red-colored solid and produces toxic fumes when decomposed by heating. Vanadium is widely distributed in the Earth's crust and is found in a variety of minerals and fossil fuels.
