  • 소개 및 적용: Tetrahydrouridine (THU) is a derivative of Uridine and a potent inhibitor of cytidine, which can be used as a potential treatment for tumors with highly expressed CDA. It inhibits cell proliferation through cell cycle regulation regardless of CDA expression levels. THU is a competitive, reversible inhibitor of cytidine deaminase with Ki values of 54 and 240 nM for human and E. coli enzymes, respectively. It is being evaluated in animal models and clinical trials, alone or in combination with the DNA methyltransferase inhibitor 5-fluoro-2'-deoxycytidine, for the treatment of diseases such as cancer and mitochondrial DNA depletion syndrome.
