• 소개 및 적용: Tetrafluoroethylene is a colorless, odorless, and flammable gas that is used in the manufacture of polymers, synthesis of fluorinated refrigerants, dielectric media, and solvents. It is also used in vinyl polymerization, cycloalkylation, and addition reactions. When heated to decomposition, it emits highly toxic fluorocarbon fumes. Tetrafluoroethylene is insoluble in water and may asphyxiate by displacing air. It can also violently polymerize and rupture containers upon prolonged exposure to fire or heat. The primary route of human exposure to this compound is inhalation, which may result in respiratory tract irritation and pulmonary edema. Contact with this gas can cause eye irritation, and it is reasonably anticipated to be a human carcinogen.
